Terms & Conditions
a) At 1st Place Rider Training we have a respectful, fun environment. Any student acting in an offensive, insulting or detrimental manner to other customers, staff or visitors shall have their training/course terminated and no refunds shall be made.
b) All students must arrive on site 15 minutes before the start time of their training, e.g. a 9:00 am start requires students to arrive by 8:45 am so that training can start promptly, unless otherwise advised by their confirmation letter or instructor. Failure to comply will result in the loss of that day’s training and any test booked for that day. No refunds shall be made.
c) 1st Place Rider Training is responsible for your safety and we therefore ask you to comply with all reasonable requests made by our staff. Failure to comply will result in the termination of your training/course and no refunds shall be made.
d) 1st Place Rider Training is responsible for your safety, therefore we ask you to comply with our minimum clothing standards during training which are: strong shoes/boots, ideally offering ankle protection; jeans or strong trousers. As part of your training/course, 1st Place Rider Training can provide a safety helmet, motorcycle jacket and trousers, as well as motorcycle gloves, at no extra cost. Ideally students should have their own motorcycle clothing and equipment which they should wear. Inappropriate clothing would be classed as sandals, shorts, t-shirts etc. If your instructor deems your clothing unsuitable, we reserve the right to refuse training and no refunds shall be made.
e) 1st Place Rider Training is happy to loan safety helmets to students. We ask that you are respectful of helmets and use them appropriately. Failure to do this will incur a charge of £50 towards the cost of replacing the helmet. If prompt payment of this charge is not made then your course/training will be put on hold and any expenses incurred by this action e.g. replacement test fees will be met by the student.
f) Students at 1st Place Rider Training are responsible for radios, motorcycle ignition keys and any other equipment used during training. Loss or damage to the above items will incur a £20 charge per item. If prompt payment of this charge is not made then your course/training will be put on hold and any expenses incurred by this action e.g. replacement test fees will be met by the student.
g) Students are required to bring both parts of their photo card driving licence, i.e. the photo card and matching paper counterpart. When they have an old style paper licence then they must bring the single paper licence and a passport). Licences need to be brought with them every day of their course. Failure to comply will result in the termination of your training/course and no refunds shall be made.
h) 1st Place Rider Training is responsible for your safety, therefore where students request and pay for a course, the size of bike ridden by the student will ultimately be at the discretion of the instructor and booking of a DAS course will not infer any right to ride or take the practical test on a machine over 124cc.
i) 1st Place Rider Training requires any cancellations or re-bookings to be made a minimum of 10 days prior to the start of their course. Failure to comply will result in the loss of any fees paid.
j) 1st Place Rider Training requires that all payments be made prior to the commencement of any training course. Cash, debit or credit cards are the only acceptable forms of payment.
k) 1st Place Rider Training may have to cancel your training at short notice due to poor weather or some other event beyond our control. In the event of this happening 1st Place Rider Training will endeavour where reasonably possible to reschedule the day but will not offer any refunds or accept liability for out of pocket expenses incurred.
l) Images and videos of students may be taken during your training and may be used in promotional materials, including the internet. If you object to this, please inform your instructor at the beginning of your training.
m) There will be a charge when you are asked to come back for the following reasons: 1) You did not turn up on time for the course as specified in your confirmation letter. 2) You did not arrive with both parts of your Driving Licence. 3) You were advised to bring a translator and did not arrive with one, or you were unable to understand the instructor and required a translator on the day. 4) You demonstrated a lack of understanding and knowledge of the Highway Code. 5) You arrived for your training with inappropriate clothing (eg sandals, shorts, t-shirts – see our website for further details). 6) You require more training.
